As part of a Historic Preservation Fund Grant from the National Park Service, the Miami Nation’s Cultural Resources Office created a map following the Myaamia Removal in 1846 and the accompanying publication.

Diane Hunter, Tribal Historic Preservation Officer of the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma, has done additional research into the Myaamia Forced Removal. Her research has allowed us to include annotations with updates to the information in the book. As part of the events commemorating the 175th anniversary of the Myaamia Forced Removal, she has also written a series of blog posts which can be found on the Removal Commemoration page.
