The staff of the Miami Tribe’s Eemamwiciki Summer Programs are excited to announce the dates for this summer’s programs. The Cultural Resources Office has not made a decision about face-to-face programming for this summer, but for planning purposes we want to get the dates on everyone’s calendars. Two, week-long learning from home sessions will be available during these dates whether or not in-person programs occur. Families selecting the learning from home option may participate in either session based on their family’s schedule. Applications will be available beginning on March 29, 2021. For more information about applications, follow Eemamwicki on Facebook.

This summer’s learning theme is ašiihkiwi neehi kiišikwi ‘Earth and Sky’ where we explore Myaamionki ‘the place of the Myaamia’ by looking at what is up, down, and all around. We look at the rocks beneath our feet and sky above our heads from a Myaamia perspective. This summer, we’ll be asking questions about the way nipi ‘water’ flows through nearly everything around us (including ourselves) and continues to shape our world. We look forward to exploring together with you all this summer! Nipwaahkaako!
