19th Day of Black Bear Moon (2014)
(19 mahkwa kiilhswa (2014))
Today, it’s really cold (13), cloudy, and it snowed a little.
(noonki kaahkiihkwe mayaawi neepanki (13) aalahkwahki eelaamhsenki tikawi manetwa piisaaci.)
Tonight, the moon is almost half dead (waning).
(noonki peehkonteeki naawi napale neepiki kiilhswa (peemineeta).)
What’s the weather like where you’re at?
(taaniši kiišikatwi niiyaaha apiyani?)
Hot and dry with no relief in sight. 80 every day but humidity in the teens and 10% of the expected rain. This is supposed to be the start of the cool wet growing season but every native plant in my yard is dying and wildfire season has not ended in Nov as usual. Sunny Southern California is having WAY too much of what many call a good thing!
eeweemilaani, šoowiteehiaani (I’m sorry) to hear it. This cold we’re having is a bit extreme, but more in line with our “normal” than what you’re experiencing.
